The shortlist
4 things that do it. Ours is in there, labelled, not on top.
Where one of our products fits, it sits in the list with an "ours" label, never forced to the top. Ours: made by the same studio that runs this site.

How they compare
Which one suits you, and why.
Which one suits you depends on how often you rewrite and where you do it, so here they are by need.
If you want a free rewording page in the browser
Grammarly's paraphrasing tool page is titled no sign-up, though its text also describes rewrites with a free Grammarly account. You paste a sentence into the browser and get a reworded version back, with six preset styles and a custom voice option. Grammarly also has iPhone and Android apps.
The catch is inside Grammarly's own editor. There, rewriting full sentences with a click is a Pro feature, and the Free plan, at €0 a month with 100 AI prompts a month, does not include it. The free page suits a quick fix; regular rewriting inside the editor means paying. Pro was shown to us at €12, in euros and with no billing period in the page text, and Grammarly's prices vary by region.
If you want several rewording styles
QuillBot is an AI paraphraser and writing assistant, with a keyboard app for iPhone that paraphrases as you type and an Android app on Google Play. You create an account to start. Its app offers 2 free paraphrasing modes and more on Premium, 8 in one part of its App Store listing and 10+ in another, so you can reword the same sentence in different styles and pick one.
What you give up is certainty about cost. quillbot.com blocked our checks, so its web prices and limits are not verified here. The UK App Store lists the app's Premium at £19.99 a month, £79.99 semi-annual or £99.99 a year.
If you want suggestions while you write
Wordtune, from AI21 Labs, suggests other ways to word a sentence as you write, through its Chrome and Edge extensions, its iOS app or the web. You choose between alternative rewrites in place rather than copying text back and forth.
Rewriting is one job; sounding like yourself is another, and a rewrite tool won't settle that second one for you. For that, there's AI that writes in your voice, and that page shows how chatbots follow style instructions you give them, while Jasper and ScriptGrain (ours) analyse your own writing to build a voice. It also covers how ScriptGrain scores drafts against it.
The free Basic plan is $0.00 and gives 10 rewrites and AI suggestions a day, plus 3 AI summaries a month. On a long piece, 10 a day is a real limit. Advanced raises it to 30 a day, and Unlimited removes the cap.
If the rewrite has to sound like you
The three tools above are built to change wording, although Grammarly says its Paraphraser can learn a custom voice from tone and style direction you add. ScriptGrain, which is ours, is built for this job: our own page describes a paraphraser as changing the wording and keeping the meaning without any idea whose voice the result is in, while a voice rewriter aims at your measured style.
Our own Transfer feature, on ScriptGrain's Writer plan and above at 1 credit, rewrites a pasted draft of 20 words or more in your measured voice, keeping the ideas, facts and structure. The same page of ours says a paraphraser fits when you only care that the meaning survives, so for a single sentence one of the tools above is the simpler choice. Our Writer plan is £12 a month or £115 a year, on the web only, and our free plan covers 1 voice profile, 1 writing analysis and 1 free draft, once for the life of the account, with no card.
When paying is worth it
Wordtune's Advanced plan is the clearest case. It is $4.89 a month billed annually, shown with $6.99 struck through, and it makes sense once 10 rewrites a day is not enough: it gives 30 a day and a 3-day free trial. Unlimited is $6.99 a month billed annually, shown with $9.99 struck through.
For Grammarly, pay for Pro only if you want full-sentence rewrites inside its editor, since the free paraphrasing page already rewords sentences, with a free account according to its own text. QuillBot's Premium adds its extra modes, from £19.99 a month in the iPhone app; its web price is one to check yourself.
What to watch for
The catches worth knowing first.
On the UK App Store, an app called Quillbot AI Paraphrase Rewrite is sold by a different seller. The official app is listed by QuillBot, a Learneo Inc. business, so check the seller before you install.
Wordtune's free trial lasts 3 days and needs payment details. You are charged when it ends unless you cancel first, and Wordtune says it does not offer refunds.
Grammarly's prices are shown in local currency and vary by region. We saw euros, so what you see may differ.

How we checked
What we read, and what we haven't tested yet.
On 2026-10-02 we read the Wordtune homepage and plans page, Grammarly's paraphrasing tool page and plans page, QuillBot's UK App Store and Google Play listings and the UK App Store listing of a second app using the QuillBot name, and the pricing page and AI style rewriter page of ScriptGrain, our own product. quillbot.com blocked our checks. Nothing was tested hands-on.
If none of these fit
The manual way.
Any general AI chat assistant will reword a sentence if you ask it to. If you want the rewrite to sound like you, ScriptGrain (ours) has a free tool that measures a sample of your writing and turns it into rewrite instructions you can paste into ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, with no account.
