is there an ai that can write in my voice?

yes.

Yes. Chatbots follow style instructions you give them, while Jasper and ScriptGrain analyse your writing to build a voice. ScriptGrain builds a profile from your own writing and scores drafts against it.

You've got plenty of your own writing and you want an AI to sound like you when it drafts the next thing. Yes, that exists. Some chatbots follow the style notes you give them, and a couple of tools read your writing and build the voice themselves. Which suits you depends on how much describing you want to do.

How we checked

What we read, and what we haven't tested yet.

On 2 October 2026 we read the vendor pages listed under sources: OpenAI's custom instructions and Memory help pages and ChatGPT pricing page, Claude's personalisation help article and pricing page, Jasper's pricing page, Grammarly's humaniser page, and ScriptGrain's home and pricing pages. The old Claude styles help article returned a 404, so we describe only the instructions and skills it now documents. ChatGPT prices did not show on its pricing page. We didn't test any of these hands-on.

If none of these fit

The manual way.

The free way is to paste two or three samples of your own writing into a chatbot, ask it to describe your style, then save that description as custom instructions. ScriptGrain's own page says it measures the rhythm, vocabulary, structure and habits that make writing yours, which is what that manual description is trying to capture.

FAQ

Asked before you ask.

Is there an ai that can write in my voice?

Can ChatGPT write like me?

You can save style instructions in ChatGPT's custom instructions, up to 1,500 characters on Free and Go and 5,000 on paid plans. Memory can also use past chats where enabled. (Source: OpenAI Help Center: ChatGPT custom instructions)

Can Claude write like me?

Claude's instructions apply account-wide, and its skills can apply communication patterns based on your own writing or preferences. You write and maintain them yourself. (Source: Claude Help Center: Understanding Claude's personalization features)

What is the difference between style instructions and a voice profile?

Style instructions are rules you write. ScriptGrain instead measures your own writing on 45 reference points and scores drafts against the result. (Source: ScriptGrain: home page)

Is there a free option?

Yes. ChatGPT custom instructions are on all plans, Claude has a free plan, Grammarly's custom voice needs only a free account, and ScriptGrain's free plan includes one voice profile and one draft.
