The things
Every thing we've checked here. From 2 checked questions.
Vendors measure free use differently, so we show their own units.
UK grocery price comparison site with deals, price comparisons across stores and shopping lists.
- Free
- Free to use per its pages; its About page says it is powered by sponsors and will always be free (that page may be dated).
- Paid
- price not checked
- Best at
- Comparing prices across many shops: its home page lists Asda, Sainsbury's, Morrisons, Co-op, Iceland, Tesco and Waitrose, plus Boots, Superdrug, Amazon and eBay.
- The catch
- Its home page does not explain how prices are collected or how often they update, so check the shop's own price before buying.
- web
- mobile app
Tracks prices across 13 UK retailers, with shopping lists, price alerts and price history.
- Free
- Free on web, app and Chrome extension, with no premium tier mentioned on the page.
- Paid
- price not checked
- Best at
- Price history and alerts: it says you can check price history to spot genuine discounts and set alerts for brands or keywords.
- The catch
- It is ad and commission funded, so a small number of ads may appear in the app and on the website, and it earns commission from retailer clicks.
- web
- ios
- android
- chrome
Basket comparison: enter a shopping list and it matches items across supermarkets, shows totals and suggests cheaper alternatives.
- Free
- No pricing shown on the page, so it appears free; the vendor does not say so explicitly.
- Paid
- price not checked
- Best at
- Comparing a whole basket including loyalty prices across Tesco, Sainsbury's, Aldi, Asda and Morrisons.
- The catch
- It says prices may vary from live store pricing and availability, its price data showed collection dates of 2 August to 11 September 2026, and it does not say who operates it.
- web
A monthly Which? comparison of what a basket costs at each supermarket, using prices tracked daily.
- Free
- The page showed no paywall or membership requirement when we read it.
- Paid
- price not checked
- Best at
- Showing which supermarket was cheapest for the month: Aldi in August 2026 at £159.36 for 92 items, with Lidl at £161.10.
- The catch
- It is a monthly article, not a tool for your own basket. Which? says the products vary month to month, so totals are not comparable between months or years, and it cannot include points or personalised discounts.
- web
UK budgeting app that links your bank accounts through open banking and tracks subscriptions.
- Free
- Basic plan: 'track wasteful subscriptions', up to 2 bank logins.
- Paid
- from £4.99 a month, Plus
- Best at
- Seeing subscriptions across more than one bank in one place.
- The catch
- The free plan links only 2 bank logins, and most of the budgeting tools sit behind Plus.
- iPhone
- Android
- web (paid plans)
UK money app that connects your accounts and watches spending, bills and subscriptions.
- Free
- Free version: connect accounts, regular payment and subscription tracking, weekly bill reminders and contract renewal reminders.
- Paid
- from £5.99 a month, Snoop Plus
- Best at
- Nudging you about subscriptions you don't use and bill price rises.
- The catch
- You have to connect at least one bank account, and tracking bills by pay cycle is a Plus feature.
- iPhone
- Android
If you bank with Monzo, Scheduled Payments lists Direct Debits, standing orders and recurring card payments, with predicted next dates.
- Free
- Included in the Monzo app; no charge mentioned for the feature.
- Paid
- price not checked
- Best at
- No extra app: it's already in your banking app.
- The catch
- It only sees payments made through Monzo, and the official write-up we found dates from 2018.
- Monzo app
US app that links your accounts and finds your recurring subscriptions and bills.
- Free
- Subscription tracking, account linking, spending trends and balance alerts.
- Paid
- from $7 to $14 a month, Premium
- Best at
- Finding subscriptions automatically, with paid help cancelling them.
- The catch
- US only: it works only for people in the US with US banks. Cancellation help is Premium, and bill negotiation takes a cut of what you save.
- iPhone
- Android
A tidy subscription list you fill in yourself, with reminders before bills are due.
- Free
- Free with in-app purchases.
- Paid
- from £0.99 one-off, cheapest in-app purchase (UK App Store)
- Best at
- Privacy: it never connects to your bank.
- The catch
- It doesn't find anything. You add each subscription yourself, and it's iPhone-only.
