# Is there a website that can unblur photos?

**Answer: partly.** Partly. Fotor says its unblur tool fixes camera shake, slight motion blur, soft focus and compression blur. If the detail was never captured, any result is a best guess. (Source: [Fotor: unblur image](https://www.fotor.com/features/unblur-image/))

Partly. Sites and apps such as Fotor will try to unblur a photo for you, and Fotor says its tool fixes camera shake, slight motion blur, soft focus and compression blur. But if the detail was never captured in the first place, whatever you get back is a best guess.

## The shortlist

### Fotor

A web, mobile and desktop photo editor with an AI unblur tool.

- Link: https://www.fotor.com/features/unblur-image/
- Free tier: yes. Unblur is free, with high-quality downloads without watermarks, and needs no sign-up; 4x high-resolution versions and batch uploads are on paid plans; images are deleted within 24 hours (Fotor).
- Paid from: not checked (not verified: pricing page showed plans without amounts)
- Best at: Free unblur in the browser with no sign-up, per its page.
- The catch: Fotor lists camera shake, slight motion blur, soft focus and compression blur as what it fixes, and says compression may limit detail.
- Platforms: web, ios, android, windows, mac

### Google Photos (Photo Unblur)

The Google Photos app's Unblur tool, found under Edit then Actions.

- Link: https://photos.google.com/
- Free tier: yes. Photo Unblur is free for all Google Photos users (Google, 2024 announcement).
- Paid from: not checked (free to use)
- Best at: Unblurring photos you already have stored in Google Photos, at no cost.
- The catch: On Android the improved Unblur needs a device with at least 4GB of RAM, and some editing features are not supported on 32-bit devices.
- Platforms: android, ios

### Let's Enhance

A web enhancer that sharpens soft focus, recovers detail and restores damaged photos.

- Link: https://letsenhance.io/
- Free tier: yes. 10 free credits on sign-up, upscaling to 8 megapixels, watermark on output.
- Paid from: $9 per month (billed annually) (Starter plan (checked 2026-10-02))
- Best at: Sharpening and enhancing in a browser, with an Old Photo mode.
- The catch: The free plan has 10 credits and watermarked output.
- Platforms: web, api

### Remini

A photo enhancer app that sharpens blurry or low-resolution photos, with a focus on faces and old pictures.

- Link: https://app.remini.ai/
- Free tier: yes. Free to download with in-app purchases (UK App Store).
- Paid from: £9.99 per month (£9.99 for 1 Month per UK App Store; weekly plans from £4.99 to £9.99 a week also listed (checked 2026-10-02))
- Best at: Face and old-photo enhancement.
- The catch: The UK App Store privacy label says identifiers may be used to track you across other companies' apps and websites, and lists your email address as linked to you; photos and videos are listed as not linked. Check its terms before uploading photos of people.
- Platforms: ios, web

## How they compare

Which one suits you depends on what you're starting with, and on what you're willing to hand over.

### If you want no sign-up
Fotor. Its page says unblur is free, with high-quality downloads without watermarks, and needs no sign-up, so you can open the browser, drop in a photo and see what happens. That's the whole appeal.

The cost is that you're relying on what it says it fixes: camera shake, slight motion blur, soft focus and compression blur. Notice the word "slight". Fotor also says compression may limit detail, so a heavily compressed image may not come back with much more.

The paid side is where the extras sit. Fotor says 4x high-resolution versions and batch uploads come with its paid plans, and the pricing page showed plans without amounts, so we can't say what they cost.

### If the photo is already in Google Photos
Google Photos. Photo Unblur is free for all Google Photos users and sits under Edit then Actions, so there's no upload to somewhere new and no extra app if your pictures already live there.

What you give up is flexibility. It works on photos you've got stored there, and on Android the improved Unblur needs a device with at least 4GB of RAM. Google's help page also says some editing features aren't supported on 32-bit devices.

### If you want to try a browser enhancer first
Let's Enhance. It's a web enhancer that sharpens soft focus, recovers detail and restores damaged photos, and it has an Old Photo mode. The free plan gives you 10 credits on sign-up, so you can try it before spending anything.

The price of that is a watermark on the output, and upscaling is capped at 8 megapixels on the free plan. You also need to sign up, which Fotor doesn't ask for.

### If you are restoring faces or old pictures
Remini. It's an app built around sharpening blurry or low-resolution photos, with a focus on faces and old pictures, and it's on iOS and the web. If you've got a scan of a family photo, that focus is the reason to look at it.

The catch is privacy and cost. It's free to download with in-app purchases, and the UK App Store lists £9.99 for 1 Month, and weekly plans from £4.99 to £9.99 a week. Its privacy label is worth reading too, which we come back to below.

### When paying is worth it
Fotor's unblur and Google Photos are free. So paying only matters if you want more: Fotor's 4x high-resolution versions and batch uploads, or Let's Enhance, whose Starter plan is $9 per month, billed annually.

Before you subscribe, check what the extra credits or quality buy you, because the free route may already cover a lightly soft photo.

## What to watch for

Start with Remini. Its UK App Store privacy label says identifiers may be used to track you across other companies' apps and websites, and lists your email address as linked to you. Photos and videos are listed as not linked. Still, it's worth checking its terms before you upload pictures of people.

Fotor says uploaded images are deleted within 24 hours. That's reassuring as far as it goes, but read its privacy policy for the full terms.

The big one, though, is the limit nobody can get around. If the detail was never captured, any result is a best guess. Fotor itself describes its tool as reconstructing missing pixel data, and reconstructing isn't the same as recovering. What you get is an AI estimate, not detail the camera recorded.

## How we checked

On 2026-10-02 we read Fotor's unblur and pricing pages, plus Google's announcement and help page for Photos Unblur. Then we read the Let's Enhance homepage and pricing, the Remini UK App Store listing and web page, and the Upscayl readme. Picsart's page returned an error and Photoshop's help page was blocked, so neither is included. Nothing was tested hands-on.

## If none of these fit

The honest manual route is to retake the shot. If the original is blurred, no tool has the lost detail to recover, and the result is an AI estimate. A tool like Upscayl enlarges low-resolution images, but its own project page says it cannot de-blur, so it's the wrong thing to reach for here.

Yes. Fotor's unblur is free, with high-quality downloads without watermarks and no sign-up, and Google Photos' Photo Unblur is free for all users.

### Are my photos kept when I use Fotor?

Fotor says uploaded images are automatically deleted within 24 hours. Read its privacy policy for the full terms.

### Why does Upscayl not unblur photos?
